Eye Candy vs. Bare-Bones in UI Design

A fine line exists between good and bad eye candy!

Good design balanced with usability and emotional appeal needs to occur on every page.

Eye candy is also a special kind of mutual gaze — one that is dense with addictive visuals. It has energy and it sends pleasure chemicals surging in the brain, it usually looks absolutely delicious. And it’s good for you. Eye candy can stop us in our tracks and that is why a good page design uses eye candy and in this case, strong large typography in this example from the American Fine Arts Foundry redesign in 2020.
